Guemes Channel Marine Traffic

The Guemes Channel can be quite busy with both pleasure crafts and tankers. It spans a distance of slightly over half a mile from the Anacortes side to the Guemes Island landing. To provide some perspective on the high volume of traffic, Cap Sante Marina alone can accommodate 150-200 guest boats per night. The Anacortes area is home to several large marinas with over 100 boats each. While waiting for the ferry, you can observe various types of vessels, including the stunning Schooner Adventuress sailing through the Guemes Channel with its sails fully extended.
