Proposal Information

Description

Skagit County Planning and Development Services (“PDS”) is performing environmental review on the proposal from Skagit County Public Works to replace the Guemes-Fidalgo island ferry vessel. More information on the proposal is available at www.skagitcounty.net/ferry.

PDS has contracted with BERK Consulting to perform an environmental assessment under the State Environmental Policy Act (“SEPA”) prior to issuing a threshold determination. PDS is soliciting comment at this stage, prior to writing the environmental assessment, to ensure relevant environmental data and considerations are collected from the public.

The formal required comment period will follow issuance of the threshold determination.

How to Comment

Email comments are preferred and must be sent to pdscomments@co.skagit.wa.us with the proposal name (“Replacement Guemes Ferry Proposal”) in the subject line. Include your comments in the body of your email message rather than as attachments. Comments should focus on the environmental aspects of the proposed replacement ferry.

Paper comments must be printed on 8½x11 paper and mailed or delivered to:
